Join Our Junior Board
Under the leadership of Museum staff, the Junior Board is comprised of high school students who seek to enhance their knowledge, build leadership skills, build personal and professional networks, and participate in legacy projects that further the Museum’s mission and function in the community.
The Junior Board abides by four pillars:
- Learning: Members will attend and engage with Museum-led educational programming designed specifically for high school students.
- Leadership: Members will enhance their knowledge and understanding of the Museum’s mission and function in the community. Members will also learn about potential career paths and meet representatives from local organizations.
- Community Building: Members will be encouraged to interact and make connections with fellow students and Museum Community Partners to build personal and professional networks. Members will also have opportunities to attend and deliver pre-scripted remarks at public programs and events at the Museum.
- Remembrance: Junior Board Members will maintain survivors at the heart of the Museum’s mission by hearing presentations from Holocaust, genocide, and human rights speakers throughout the school year, and participating in an annual legacy project.
Basic Responsibilities of Junior Board Members:
- Attend monthly Junior Board meetings.
- Actively participate in meetings, contributing ideas and discussing them with other Junior Board members, learning to model civil discourse.
- Volunteer at Museum events on occasion.
- Help plan a Student Day event at the Museum in spring 2026.
