Camp Upstander & Upstander Institute
Summer Camps
CAMP UPSTANDER
For the past five years, Camp Upstander has welcomed campers to participate in
activities around themes such as embracing differences and spreading kindness. Our Museum Educators have provided age-appropriate activities, including crafts, reading, and discussion, to explore these Upstanders themes. Camp Upstander’s mission is to instill in kids the skills to become Upstanders in their community.
This year, the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum is pleased to partner with the Richardson Family YMCA, Bishop Arts Theater, and Girls Inc. This partnership brings three summer camps with similar values and missions together.
UPSTANDER INSTITUTE

Join us for one of our 2026 Upstander Institute sessions.
High School: Leadership & Service (June 1-5)
Develop leadership skills by engaging in leadership activities, connecting with local leaders, and exploring the Museum through guided tours. Participants will identify community challenges and develop a Call to Action Plan they can implement. Students who complete the program earn an Upstander Leadership Certificate recognizing their commitment to leadership and positive change.
Junior High: History & Research (July 27-31)
Explore the past and learn how history is uncovered. Campers will tour the Museum, work with primary sources, and participate in hands-on lessons led by educators and partner organizations. During the week, students will research a historical topic of interest and create a model exhibit panel to present at the end of camp—bringing history to life through their own discoveries.
