Women with Silver Wings: The WASPs and Fifinella
Join us to hear from historian Katherine Sharp Landdeck, Ph.D., author of The Women with Silver Wings, as she shares how she brought to life the remarkable stories of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), from their rigorous training in Sweetwater, Texas, to the discrimination they faced and their long fight for recognition. Fifinella, the mischievous female gremlin created by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Disney artists, became the official mascot of the WASP, symbolizing the spirit, courage, and camaraderie of the women embarking on hazardous missions.
