Hours, Location, and Parking

Where is the Museum located?

The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum is located at 300 N. Houston Street, Dallas, Texas 75202,. The main public entrance is on Houston Street, and the group-tour entrance is on Ross Avenue.

What are the Museum’s regular hours?

The Museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day, except it is closed on Tuesdays. In 2026, the Museum will be open on Tuesday, March 17, and on Tuesday, December 29.

Does the Museum observe special holiday hours or closures?

Yes. The Museum closes on several major holidays, including:

New Year’s Day – Thursday, January 1, 2026

Easter – Sunday, April 5, 2026

Rosh Hashanah – Saturday, September 12, 2026

Rosh Hashanah – Sunday, September 13, 2026

Yom Kippur – Monday, September 21, 2026

Where can visitors park?

Visitors may park in the covered parking garage located at 301 N. Houston Street, directly across from the Museum. Payment is available through QR code in the garage or the ParkMobile app.

Is the Museum accessible by public transportation?

Yes. The DART West End Station is located one block from the Museum on Pacific Avenue, making public transportation a convenient option.

Are there nearby attractions and restaurants that visitors may enjoy?

Yes. The Museum is located in Dallas’s historic West End, which offers several nearby attractions and restaurant options within walking distance.

Admission and Discounts

What are the standard admission prices?

General admission is:

$19 for adults

$17 for seniors, educators, military members, first responders, and visitors with disabilities

$12 for students

Does the Museum offer discounted admission?

Yes. Visitors who present a valid SNAP EBT card may receive admission of $3 per person for up to four people through the Museums for All program. Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank cardholders receive free admission on the first full weekend of each month. The Museum also participates in Dallas CityPASS, which offers discounted admission when combined with other Dallas attractions.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

Tickets may be purchased in advance online here or upon arrival at the Guest Services Desk. The Museum does not offer refunds for purchased tickets.

Is my ticket valid all day?

Yes. Visitors can arrive at any time, and re-entry on the same day is permitted. Please note, the entrance to the Museum’s permanent exhibition closes at 4:00 p.m.

Do members receive free admission?

Yes. Museum members receive unlimited free admission throughout the year, in addition to other benefits such as free parking, discount rates at the Museum Store, and free admission to select programs. Learn more about the benefits of membership here.

Visiting Guidelines and Experience

How long should visitors plan to spend at the Museum?

Visitors should plan to spend two to three hours to experience the full Museum, including permanent exhibitions, the special exhibition, and theater components.

Is the Museum appropriate for young children?

The Museum recommends that visitors be at least 12 years old due to the sensitive and complex subject matter presented in the permanent exhibition. Special exhibitions may be appropriate for younger audiences. Please check the current special exhibitions page for more information.

What does general admission include?

General admission includes access to the Permanent Exhibition, the Special Exhibition Gallery, the Dimensions in Testimony℠ Theater, and the Cinemark Theater film “Voices of Courage.”

Is Dimensions in Testimony included in my ticket?

Yes. See the Guest Services Desk for times and availability, and to make reservations. Space is limited.

Are there security or bag policies visitors should know about?

Yes. All visitors must pass through a security screening. Bags may not exceed 19 inches tall, 17 inches wide, and 8 inches deep. The Museum does not offer a coat or bag check, and strollers are not permitted inside theaters. View the Museum’s policy on prohibited items here.

May visitors take photographs?

Visitors may take non-flash photographs, provided they do not disrupt the experience of others. Flash photography, video recording, live-streaming, tripods, and selfie sticks are not permitted.

May visitors bring in food and beverages?

The Museum does not allow outside food or beverages.

Does the Museum offer accessibility accommodations?

Yes. The Museum is fully ADA compliant, welcomes service animals as defined by ADA, and provides English and Spanish captioning for video elements. Visitors may also access an English or Spanish audio tour through a free app. For guests with sensory needs, the Museum offers a “Social Story” through the KultureCity app.

Does the Museum offer docent tours?

Yes. Highlight tours are led by a Museum Docent Educator throughout each month. Tours leave from the lobby and last 90 minutes. Learn about upcoming tours here.

Guests must purchase general admission tickets online or onsite to participate. Maximum of 20 guests per tour; first come, first served.

Does the Museum offer an audio tour?

Yes. Download the free DHHRM Audio Tour – at the App Store or Google Play – for a self-guided tour on your mobile phone. Visitors may access it in English or Spanish. The Museum is not able to provide headphones.

Is there Wi-Fi at the Museum?

Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available. Visit the Guest Services Desk for login information.

Does the Museum have a store?

Yes. The Museum Store is located off the lobby and features books, mission-related items, and snacks.

What is the Museum’s smoking policy?

Smoking, including vaping, is not permitted in or within 15 feet of the Museum.

Are there recommended times for a less crowded visit?

Yes. Because school groups frequently visit in the mornings, arriving after 1:00 p.m. on weekdays or visiting on weekends during the school year may provide a less crowded experience.

Group and Student Tours

Who may book a group tour, and how is it scheduled?

Groups of 15 or more guests may book a group tour. Reservations must be scheduled and paid at least two weeks in advance. Learn more about group tours here.

What are the admission rates for student groups?

Student groups in grades six and above, including college groups, may visit the Museum for $8 per guest. Learn more about group tours here.

How far in advance must schools or student groups submit a request?

Schools and student groups must submit a request at least three weeks before the preferred visit date. Learn more about group tours here.

What is included in a student group visit?

A standard student visit lasts at least three hours and includes the Permanent Exhibition, the Special Exhibition, and a film screening in the Cinemark Theater. Large groups may be divided into smaller sub-groups to ensure a meaningful experience.
